Solstice Project 17 - winter 1 - sunrise

Not actually sunrise on the winter solstice; a few days earlier.
A good point of sighting sunrise on the winter solstice is that it's a lot later in the day than the summer one. On the not so convenient side, at this latitude and at this location, it can be very cold and is often foggy. Hence, the photo above was not taken at sunrise on the actual winter solstice...
This one was taken on the winter solstice, but it took 20 minutes after sunrise for the gap in the clouds to reach the desired part of the horizon. Oh well.
Returning to the house to thaw out and ponder on the disappointment that would have been felt by the ancient Incas or neolithic inhabitants of Ireland in the case of similar inclement weather, I discovered a pleasing line of sunlight penetrating exactly through a gap between the eastern side of the house and the centre of it:
Marking the winter solstice inside my house.
Hoping that this piece of information is pleasing and that the view of my house does not alarm the tidy, I end this post.
