Solstice Project 7 - summer 7 - to the east

Wide-angle photo taken of the actual summer solstice sunrise, somewhat obscured by December 2019 bush fire smoke; the wide view makes things look further away.
After much wandering around toward the west, I decided to at last journey (like the Magi) to the east. This route passes across the street, through one row of houses and gardens, across a creek and a paddock and up a hill with several more streets. In some ways this navigation is easier than through the bush, because it passes houses, which are all different and thus easier on which to fix one's eye than trees, which can be very similar to each other (especially cypresses). However, this route is also more difficult because it is not polite to walk in a straight line through other people's gardens.
There was a lot of wandering around in the first section. It is difficult to mark a route when travelling downhill, partly because the starting point disappears over the brow of the hill very quickly and the terrain is undulating.
I conducted some investigation at the creek and the street past it. The placing of colourful markers is problematic, because the location is more public. I placed either temporary markers or simple stone ones.
The colourful mint tin was found (fortuitously) in the street nearby. I did not leave it in this more public location.
A lot of interesting exploration occurred in the streets on the opposite hill. An approximate location has been determined on the ridge; however what is a distinctive house from a distance turned out to be impossible to see from the street. Ironic.
Further inspection of the original sunrise photos reminds me, however, that the point where the sun was first seen is the next ridge, out of town. Another expedition is called for.
